A typical day in the life of a Virtual Assistant
From diary management to client follow up, travel and event coordination, social media, recruitment and web design across various industries with VERY different clients, people always ask me “How do you do it…surely even you need a VA?”
Below is a typical day in the life of a Virtual Assistant, well at least my Virtual Assistant life.

- 10am – midday Networking/coffee meetings/calls with existing and new clients

Throughout the day I also carry out my personal and business admin, my personal and business social media posting and blogging and more, more, more…
Whilst having to be patient, strategic, calm and focussed, for me it’s all down to being ORGANISED, ORGANISED, ORGANISED!!!
Most who know me, would call me OCD, saying I never switch off - even though I am always telling my clients to. They often tell me to slow down, not to sweat the small stuff and not focus on every minuscule detail…but that’s where I beg to differ. My attention to detail, focus, dedication and enthusiasm is why I enjoy what I do and why my clients consistently tell me they love working with me so much.
I have always given 110% in everything I do and I believe in the old adage “it’s about quality and not quantity.”
With a background in the corporate world, where we work like machines (although we often don’t have any choice) it has made me even more determined to ensure that we provide a qualitative service to our client’s day in, day out. Nothing should be done by halves. It’s about providing a professional service whilst saving my clients time and money and knowing that they can rely on me one hundred percent. My reputation is on the line.
Why do clients choose to work with me?
I take pride in what I do. I believe that a close relationship with ALL of my clients is absolutely vital. The way in which we communicate should be transparent and maintained throughout our working relationship. Even though each of my clients often work in very different ways, I always look forward to speaking with them directly, and likewise, I want them to enjoy the process from beginning to end, regardless of the task at hand.
I often work with my clients for hours on end (today currently 13 hours and have barely left my desk). So it’s important that we enjoy it as best we can and not dread those moments. We have all been there and of course there are elements of our personal and business life that we don’t want to do or just don’t enjoy. Where I can, I try and make each project and collaboration as positive, enjoyable and effective as possible - for myself and my clients.
